I didn't read *every* post so if someone said this already, I apologize.

But these reports of many false bannings scare me. I remember when they'd ban in Diablo II, there would also be alot of false ban claims.. but I always assumed they were all liars. I didn't think the company would take a chance and ban anyone they were not 100% sure of. More likely (I thought) was that some people would slip through the cracks due to not enough evidence.

But it does seem that ANET is pretty quick on the ban stick. So it really worries me for the future. I really hope this never happens to me. I'd be pretty upset too!

woah. My friend got an err07 the exact same time some people got banned, but he logged on fine.

As far as I know, no one I know got banned.

not banned as of yet, but I fear logging in tomorrow morning.

I'm kind of paranoid, in real life too, about being punished for something I honestly didn't do...

Reading back a few pages I'm getting scared. I recently got into Mino farming in Elona to earn some extra cash (not much, about 30k over the last 3 days) and if these bannings do have something to do with an anti-farming code...err.

(I play GW too much anyway)

Im still on the rings as i write this.. going for unlucky title. Now im scared to log off !!! Still need 1800 losses to get title and dont plan on running the game again for the update until i either get disconnected, run out of tickets/money or (praying its not true) getting banned for going afk on the rings trying to get a title... The msg to exit program is flashing up but im gonna see if i can jag the title.. I wonder how many others are still on the rings..

Mate of mine got banned aswell =( 12 hours ago we filled in a petition to the support, had no responds.... 6 hours after that filled in one again just to be sure but no reply as of yet.

I know it's swamped there but you'd expect to see it go by the Fifo rules (First in First out) but a well =\

i consider myself lucky - i got so many err007 and err005 or w/e the number right after the festival started that i gave up and went back to tyria to work on my cartographer title... and as a result i had only 250+ orbs, so i managed to get into monastery int17 lol and i left it immediately after i got my mask.... there was no point to stay for the end-of-the-festival event, lag was terrible even in int dis

i guess it saved me from the ban *knocks on the wood - from what i've heard they're still banning ppl*

I got an error message, and was booted out. Although I was able to log back on fine.

I doubt this was done purposely, but I guess this is some sort of weird aftershock from the bugged Festival? Hopefully it will be fixed, and fixed faster than the bugs and glitches in the festival were (aka, never).

Well the machine I would play on has the failing and highly unstable PSU and could have wiped my drives, was so unstable my gw.dat's failed to read correctly and even rebuild themselves, tried to unrar a backup gw.dat from a dvd then it powered off...

I think I know atleast 4* character names on the main jap one but only 2 russian ones that I could spell correctly...

as for the russian one, I hope I can find screens with thier names in em. I think I would only have a problem with one slot after I ask someone what my russians main char is (plenty of ppl have it in thier lists when we farmed together)

I think i'll install gw on this comp and just "login" see if i can even acess the servers on either accounts. this thing only has like 32~64mb of video memory

Just to reassure you: The account terminations took place, in a batch of about 4000, at approximately 12:30 PDT today. They are not ongoing. Nobody is going to lose an account by some ban bot (now that would be an irony!

) running amuck in the account server.

Those who were unjustly banned are being restored. Heck, even a few who were running bots, and knew it, may have been restored. (We'll get 'em next time, when the parameters are changed but they'll still botting.

) We will carefully examine the parameters and make adjustments to prevent this happening. We'll never lose site of the objective of removing bots, for we know that they are harmful to the game economy and to all legitimate players. However, we'll be careful to avoid nabbing human players.

So if you were banned, let us know and we'll help you out. If you were not banned, then no worries!

Ty Gaile, But i do worry about the time this is taking and howmany accounts got accidentally banned

- I For one, have been waiting 12 hours + now, and not even a single support reply... not even an automated one =(. Really hope you guys solve this problem soon because being permanently banned for no reason, ... well yeah, i think you know how we all feel about this.

Still sounds like a flawed system. Banning harmless players, unbanning bot-players...

What about all the players that are not using forums for information? What about all the players that are on holidays?

may i ask some info about these parameters? because MANY gameplay situations may be seen as bot activity or afk farming.

some examples:

- eternal grove mission. ppl were used to start mission, run for 2 min opening 3 chests, map to town and start mission again. entering the same mission for hundreds of times is seen as bot activity? (fixed now but i'm curious)
- drunkard title. i know many ppl (including myself) that are using the zoning trick to gain minutes faster. u havent fixed this in months, i presume u like the idea that ppl spend 66% more money to earn this in ales. drink-zone-drink-zone. is that seen as bot activity?
- afk in jade quary. there's noone in jade quary, but ppl need that 0.4-0.5% for their canthan exploration title, so they stand in jade quary, start the mission and wait till the mission actualy begins -thing that may take even 1-2 hours- if someone leaves the game on and enter the mission while he's not at the keyboard? is he compared to AB afk farmers?
- 9rings. best gold sink ever created. i'd be glad to hear that noone will be banned for afking the 9rings ever. the more ppl afk there the more happy u are i guess
